Growing a Better World, One Meal at a Time with The Kraft Heinz Company Foundation
Since 2013, Rise Against Hunger has partnered with The Kraft Heinz Company Foundation in our work to alleviate global hunger. Through the partnership, Kraft Heinz supports Rise Against Hunger’s food assistance and sustainable agriculture programs, helping children and families affected by food insecurity reach their full potential.
Kraft Heinz’s Micronutrient Campaign — the company’s signature humanitarian program and one of the key ways they support our work — serves as a transformational addition to our meals. Kraft Heinz supplies their micronutrient sachets to be added to Rise Against Hunger’s meal bags. Each sachet contains 18 essential vitamins and minerals for healthy growth and development. These micronutrients have been proven effective in preventing and treating iron deficiency, anemia and other vitamin and mineral deficiencies. To date, over 400 million Rise Against Hunger meals containing the Kraft Heinz micronutrient sachets have been distributed in countries around the world, nourishing millions of lives. The meals are used to implement both immediate and long-term solutions to world hunger through support of education, nutrition, sustainable agriculture and community programs.
In addition to the micronutrient program, Kraft Heinz sponsors Rise Against Hunger Experience meal packaging events to engage its global workforce and community members in the fight against hunger and malnutrition. Since the partnership began, 43,500 Kraft Heinz employees have packaged more than 15.2 million meals. In 2021, the Kraft Heinz Company Foundation announced a new commitment to Rise Against Hunger, continuing our partnership together and supporting Rise Against Hunger’s local procurement efforts and sustainable agriculture projects. This commitment will create substantial impact, equating to 748.5 million meals for the people Rise Against Hunger serves over three years.
