Putting Faith into Action

The diverse faiths of the world share a common compassion for those in need. That shared compassion can be expressed through the interfaith efforts of Rise Against Hunger. Rise Against Hunger works with people of various religious backgrounds to host meal packaging events around the globe. The meal packaging process is a great way to engage community members of all ages around one goal: to share food with people in need.

Our mission to end hunger in our lifetime aligns with the faith traditions of the Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist and Hindu religions, as well all other major religions of the world. We join with these religious groups in stating that feeding the hungry is a moral imperative for all people of faith.

CRS Helping Hands – Embody Christ’s Love

CRS Helping Hands is a Catholic volunteer and formation event that allows participants to serve their brothers and sisters overseas in a tangible way. Rooted in the Eucharistic imperative to be the hands and feet of Christ in the world, participants work together to address hunger in both the short term and the long term.

Rise Against Hunger is a proud partner of CRS Helping Hands.

Helping Hands is a high-energy, hands-on way for Catholics in the U.S. to tackle hunger around the world. Volunteers package nutritious meals for people in Burkina Faso suffering from food shortages and famine.

CRS educates volunteers about the people and country they are helping, ships the meals and provides skills training and other long-term programs that help break the cycle of hunger.

We hope your community of faith will join us to make a real impact on hunger and poverty.
