Rise Against Hunger Tampa launched in the fall of 2018 after being supported by our Orlando location. Actively involved in the Tampa Bay Area for several years, local volunteers and partnering organizations including MetLife, Chapel by the Sea and Palma Ceia UMC, have committed to reaching our goal of ending hunger in our lifetime. Rise Against Hunger Tampa has proudly packaged and distributed meals to Haiti, Zambia, Nicaragua and more.
On October 27, Palma Ceia United Methodist Church will be hosting its 10th Rise Against Hunger Experience meal packaging event, crossing the 100,000 meal milestone! Since 2014, Palma Ceia UMC has been a leading meal packaging partner in the greater Tampa Bay area. The meals they’ve packaged have had a direct impact in countries including Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Haiti through school feeding programs, orphanages and hospitals. A special thank you to Anna Peterson, Miranda Morrisroe, and Pastor Bruce Toms for the continued support in ending world hunger with us.
