Rise Against Hunger Nashville was founded in 2016 and serves Tennessee, southern Kentucky and northern Alabama. In 2017, nearly 8,500 local volunteers and partnering organizations, including Calvary United Methodist Church, Brentwood United Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Nashville, have helped build the local movement to end global hunger. In this region alone, through 2017, nearly 2 million meals have been packaged to benefit five countries.
Calvary United Methodist Church was instrumental in bringing the hunger movement to the Tennessee area. The church has hosted events with Rise Against Hunger for five consecutive years, and in 2017, reached 500,000 all-time meals.
