Rise Against Hunger Houston was founded in 2014 and serves the Houston Metro, Texas Gulf Coast, South and Central Texas regions. In 2018, more than 9,400 local volunteers and partnering organizations, including Fluor, Houston Area Rotary Clubs and Hewlett Packard Enterprises, have helped build the local movement to end global hunger. In this region alone, through 2018, 6.1 million meals have been packaged to benefit eight countries.
Fluor hosted its first official meal packing event with the Rise Against Hunger Houston location in 2014. The company has continued to support Rise Against Hunger meal packing with Fluor employees and throughout the community, contributing 314,928 meals.
Since 2014, all Greater Houston Rotary Clubs have packaged a combined total of 290,304 meals and counting.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise has increased its involvement in the movement to end hunger in Houston over the past few years, reaching a total of 622,512 meals packaged locally!
