Farm to Fork Initiative Creates Opportunity

Farmers Empowered in the Philippines

Through Rise Against Hunger Philippines’ Farm to Fork initiative, we are implementing contract farming, which involves the hiring of small-scale indigenous farmers to provide vegetables for use in Rise Against Hunger meals. With this strategy in place, farmers grow food to support their families, and excess harvest is consolidated and sold at fair market prices to the Negrese Volunteers for Change Foundation, which then dehydrates the vegetables for Rise Against Hunger’s meals.
